College can be a really busy time for most people. I know starting out in college I was always on the go and active in a lot of things, including my sorority.
At that time I knew that a pet was not a good idea for me because I would never be home to take care of it, and pets need love and attention.
After I dropped out of my sorority last year my schedule cleared up incredibly and I sorta became lonely because I wasn't always on the go and I'm a homebody. So I decided to get my dog, Paisley! I can honestly say it was the best decision for ME.
Not everybody in college should get a pet. Whether it a cat, dog or gerbil. If you are not going to be able to take care of it THEN DONT GET IT. I don't care how cute it is, or how you think you are going to be able to pay for it. Really think about these kinds of decisions. Not only will it affect your life but that animals too.
